2013 Two years after his single-seater debut, Maximilian raced in ADAC Formel Masters, where he took two wins and finished second in the championship.

2014 Maximilian remained in ADAC Formel Masters, once again finishing as vice-champion, this time with four victories.

2015 In his debut season in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, Maximilian took a win at the Norisring.

2016 In his second year in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, Maximilan took four victories to become vice-champion.

2017 Maximilian raced a third season in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship and scored 16 podium finishes in 30 races, including five victories on his way to third in the standings.

2018 Moving up to the FIA Formula 2 Championship, Maximilian scored a podium finish on his debut race weekend and took victory in the Sprint Race at Silverstone.

2018/19 Maximilian made his ABB FIA Formula E debut at the age of 21 and impressed in his maiden season, scoring points in Paris and Bern.

2019/20 With victory in the Santiago E-Prix, Maximilian became the youngest race winner in Formula E history. He followed up his Santiago success with a podium in Marrakesh and a further win in Berlin, finishing ninth in the standings.

2020/21 Maximilian took his third career victory in New York and regularly scored points in his third Formula E season.
